Rafael Nadal takes Rome crown from Novak Djokovic
World n0 1 Nadal overcame stubborn early resistance from defending champion Djokovic to claim the Rome Masters crown with an entertaining 7-6 6-2 win.
The Spaniard took the first set in a tiebreak after Serbian Djokovic had twice recovered breaks as well as destroying a racket after losing serve in the 11th game.
Nadal broke the third seed twice in the second set to bag his fifth title of the year, his third on clay, and continue his dominance before beginning his bid for a fifth successive French Open title later this month.

The 21-year-old Scot was guaranteed to overtake Novak Djokovic as the number three player in the ATP standings on May 11 after the Serb failed to defend his Rome Masters title.
No British man had climbed higher than fourth since the inception of computerised rankings in 1973, with Murray sharing the record with the now-retired Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski in the 52-week rolling standings.

DjOKOVIC IS BETTER PLAYER THAN MURRAY
Murray's superb run in the last 9 months - which has seen him win a trio of Masters series events and play in his first Grand Slam final - has rocketed him up the rankings, and with Djokovic failing to reproduce his early 2008 brilliance the pair will swap places after this weekend.
The switch will make Murray the first British player to make it to the top-three of the men's game since the rankings were introduced in 1973.Particular congratulations for comical myopia go to reader vojislavpejic for using no fewer than 49 exclamation marks to explain precisely why "DjOKOVIC IS BETTER PLAYER THAN MURRAY".
